Geologist Dr Iain Stewart has abseiled into an active volcano for the TV series, Earth: The Power of the Planet. Watch an interview with him here. More when I have seen the programme! It was on TV tonight and is on for the next few weeks each Tuesday at 9pm on BBC 2 showing the power of volcanoes, ice and the atmosphere. All good geography.
