Hurricane Felix

Hurricane Felix Kills 150
Desperate families and rescue workers were scouring the Central American coasts after record breaking hurricanes left more than a hundred and fifty people dead or missing Following Hurricane Dean last month, this is the first time since records began that two Category 5 hurricanes have hit land in one year.
Winds and heavy rains caused mudslides, destroyed homes, uprooted trees and devastated villages in Nicaragua. Much of the damage has occurred in isolated places and as rescue workers reach those areas there are fears that the death toll will rise. Schools and ports were closed today on the north-west Mexican coast, the hurricane has been downgraded to a tropical storm but could still cause flash-flooding and mudslides. The storm is expected to reach the United States later, but it should have lost most of its energy by the time it dumps a little more rain on New Mexico.
