"Environmentally friendly" cars

The Department for Transport has published a list of the most environmentally friendly cars on the market. Having used the cost of the annual tax disc as a way of encouraging motorists to pick more environmentally friendly cars, the Government has now decided to offer consumer advice to influence the cars people buy. Britain lags behind the USA in the availability of hybrid models and behind Sweden when it comes to the ease at which motorists can get alternative biofuels.
